the Shah of Iran was de-
posed and the Ayatollah
Ruhollah Khomeini came to
power, 19,000 Iranian Jews
haVe come to Israel, Jewish
Agency chairman Leon
Dulzin reported here.
Addressing a meeting of
English-speaking new im-
migrants, he said that Ira-
nian leaders had disre-
garded warnings of the
potential danger they faced
by remaining, thinking
they were safe. But when
the Shah fell, 35,000 man-
aged to leave and 19,000
came to Israel.

at Prudential

"Concerts in the Garden,"
a series of three chamber
music concerts performed
by members of the Detroit
Symphony Orchestra,
ocntinues at 10:30 a.m.
March 22 in the Prudential
Town Center's indoor gar-
den. The series is sponsored
by the city of Southfield's
cultural arts division and
the Prudential Town Cen-
ter. •
The March 22 concert will
present two weeks each by
18th Century composers
Haydn and Mozart. Pro-
gram notes will be provided
by Charles Greenwell, host
and commentator for the
Detroit Symphony broad-
cast concerts on WQRS-FM.
Brunch or continental
breakfast are available. -Tic-
kets may be purchased at
the Southfield Cultural
Arts Division, Department
of Parks and Recreation.
