Center Adds Second Show for Music and Dance Celebration

The Jewish Community
Center has added a second
show to its presentation of

Mr. and Mrs. Jack
Schleifman of Kew Gar-
dens, N.Y., announce the
engagement of their daugh-
ter, Cathy Anne Schleif-
man, to Robert Mark
Goodfriend, son of Mrs.
Frieda Olen of Farmington
Hills and the late Dr. James
E. Goodfriend. Miss
Schleifman is a NIBS degree
candidate in accounting.
Her fiance was graduated
from the University of
Michigan and resides in
Manhattan. A fall wedding
is planned.

"A Celebration of Jewish
Music and Dance" to be held
Sunday in the Aaron DeRoy
Studio Theater at the main
building.
The 3:30 p.m. show has
been sold out. The second
show will be presented at 7
p.m. Tickets are available
by calling the Center, 661-
1000, ext. 250.
The Center and the
Michigan Lyric Opera The-
ater will present another
program in the "For a Song"
series 8:30 p.m. March 21 in
the DeRoy Studio Theater.
The evening will be a musi-
cal tribute to composer and
conductor Leonard Berns-
tein.

Selections from other
Bernstein shows will
complete the program.
Tickets will be available
at the door.
The Center will hold its
annual Purim celebration
1:30, p.m. March 22 at the
Maple-D-rake building.
Jelly the Clown and her
puppets will present the
Purim story and a costume
parade will follow.
"The Purim Spielers" will
be presented at 3 p.m. that
day by the children in the
dance classes. Among the
other Purim activities will
be a parent-toddler Purim
story, candlemaking crafts,
games and crown design
contest. The public is in-
vited free of charge.

Workmen's Circle school
board announced that regis-
tration for spring adult
Yiddish classes is now being
accepted.
The class will meet at 7
p.m., starting March 24 and
will continue for six weeks.
Beginners and inter-
mediates are welcome.
