Center Offers
Scholarships
for Israel Study
The Center is accepting
applications from high
school and college students
desiring scholarship monies
for study in Israel. These
scholarships are made
possible by funds estab-
lished by the Jewish Com-
munity Center in memory
of Samuel Linden, and in
honor of the Milton
Steinhardt family.
Students wishing to apply
should send a resume to The
Scholarship Committee,
Jewish Community Center
of Metropolitan Detroit,
6600 W. Maple, West
Bloomfield, 48033. Em-
phasis will be placed on an
applicant's potential for
community leadership,
maturity and ability to
handle
responsibility.
Scholarships
will be
awarded in a range from
$100 to $1,000.
An applicant's resume
should include Judaic
interest, educational back-
ground and qualifications,
past and current related ac-
tivities (service to the
Jewish community), pur-
pose for study in Israel, rea-
son for requesting the
scholarship (financial need)
and future plans as related
CHOCOLATE
NUT CLUSTERS
6 oz. chocolate bits
VA cups pecans, chopped
Melt chocolate on the top of
a double boiler. Stir in chop-
ped pecans. Drop by teas-
poonful on waxed paper or
lightly greased aluminum foil.
Chill well.
CHOCOLATE-COVERED
STRAWBERRIES
8 oz. melted chocolate
1 pint of strawberries.
Hull and wash strawberries.
Let them dry. Melt chocolate
on the top of a double boiler.
Dip the strawberries in the
warm chocolate. Place on
waxed paper or lightly greased
foil. Let the chocolate harden.
Store in the refrigerator.
Should be eaten the same day.

MEN'S CLUB will have its
third breakfast seminar of

speak on "Jewish Corn-
munities in Latin
America." The talk will

Entrants should submit
their essay on the topic of
"Relationships: Israel to
Me, Me to Israel." Essays
will be judged on the basis of
content and concept. All
entries must be typewrit-
ten. Title page should in-
clude the entrant's name,
grade, age and school. Also,
a brief resume and reason
for desiring to visit Israel
should accompany each es-
say.
