Against Israel

The Israel Defense Forces
released January statistics
compiled by the London-
based International Insti-
tute for Strategic Studies
showing a current total of
665,000 soldiers in confron-
tation states facing Israel's
standing army of 170,000
with 230,000 reserves.
Egypt's 500,000 troops have
not been included as con-
fronting forces since Egypt
signed the peace-treaty with
Israel.
Without Egypt's 635 air-
craft, the confrontation
states of Syria, Jordan, Iraq,
Lebanon and Saudi Arabia
possess 1,272 aircraft com-
pared to Israel's 580 air-
craft. Israel is outnumbered
in tanks, armored personnel
carriers and artillery.

Luncheon will be served.
