if THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS SPACE Lists Schedule of Its Support Groups for March SPACE, the National Council of Jewish Women's Greater Detroit Section - sponsored service for di- vorced and widowed men and women and their families will conduct sup- port groups for the month of March. At 8 p.m. Monday, there will be a four-week series of divorce support groups for men and women. At 8 p.m. Tuesday the continuing divorce support series will meet for persons who have previously par- ticipated in a divorce sup- port group. There also will be a widowed support group meeting for men and women. These are four- week series. Beginning March 10 at 5:30 p.m., there will be a children's support group for those children who have lost a parent through death. This is a weekly program for teens age 14-18. Drop-in discussion groups will meet every Wednesday evening at 8 p.m. through- out the month. Both widowed and divorced per- sons are welcome. There . Miss Salzberg to Marry in June also will be a four-week series for men only. At 8 p.m. Thursday, there will be a drop-in for mature widowed men and women and on March 31, the young widowed will have a drop- in. There is a charge for all sessions. Cystic Fibrosis Bowl-a-Thon The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation's annual Bowl for Breath will take place on March 8 at 30 Detroit-area bowling centers. The event is open to all kids and adults, bowlers and non-bowlers alike. Prizes are awarded to the people who sign up the most sponsors who pledge a penny (or mare) for each point scored in three lines of bowling. Prizes will be awarded. Sponsor sheets can be picked up at any of the par- ticipating bowling centers. Editor, The Jewish News: The Vanessa Redgrave of- fense taught me that net- works maintain an attitude of "art above all" and will not censor nor inhibit the flow of that art in any way. And I suspect the BBC and PBS will adhere to this atti- tude and show "The Mer- chant of Venice" as scheduled, without as you suggested, a follow-up edu- cational program to counter anti-Semitism. Instead of hoping for the networks to fight our battle, we should initiate a pro- gram, or series of programs, dealing with anti-Semitism as well- as the hatred for any other ethnic group. Instead of reacting, it's time we acted.
