Theme and Variations for String Orchestra by Julius Chajes Bribe Witness Hit TEL AVIV (JTA) — De- puty Mayor Yisrael Gottlieb of Bnei Brak, a key prosecution witness in the bribery trial of Religious Af- fairs Minister Aharon Abu-Hatzeira, was attacked and severely injured in his office in the town hall Feb. 15. Police said he was struck on the head by a blunt in- strument. Gottlieb was hos- pitalized for treatment of lacerations and later went to the police station where he identified his assailant as a diamond polisher em- ployed by Shmuel Daskal, one of Abu-Hatzeira's co- defendants.
