TEL AVIV (JTA) — Is-
rael's first electronic tele-
phone exchange will be
brought into operation next
week but subscribers in
Kfar Saba near Tel Aviv
who have been waiting
years for installation of a
phone have been told they
may prefer to wait another
year as the new exchange
may develop trouble during
its first months of operation.

Local and national televi-
sion critics were disturbed
by "The Bunker" shown on
CBS-TV Tuesday evening.
The critics were unhappy
with portraits of Adolf Hit-
ler and his mistress Eva
Braun. According to the
New York Times' John J.
O'Connor, "Part of the prob-
lem, perhaps, is that the
monster becomes a little too
understandable. He is not
made sympathetic, exactly,
but he is given decidedly

pathetic dimensions, mak-
ing him just that much more
`acceptable' as a dramatic
and historical character."

O'Connor also criticized a
scene when the bunker is
notified of the death of
Franklin D. Roosevelt. It is
announced that "the Jew-
lover finally dies." O'Con-
nor said this phrase distorts
the fact that more than half
the world was "targeted as
Hitler's enemies."

"Kitty — Return to Au- documentary, will be aired
schwitz," a Holocaust 8 p.m. Wednesday on Chan-
nel 56.
The documentary focuses
Susan Shamie
on Kitty Hart, a housewife
to Wed in June
and x-ray technician now
living in England, who
spent almost two years as a
young girl as a prisoner in
Auschwitz.
The film records what
happened when she decided
to take her son David back
to Auschwitz to try to ex-
plain to him the full horror
'of what she had experi-
enced.

A second and larger ex-
change will start operating
at the end of next year, and
by 1985 no more conven-
tional mechanical ex-
changes will be installed.
The new exchanges, similar
to those introduced in the
U.S. three years ago, are a
local adaptation of a basic
model purchased in
Canada.
The electronic exchanges
not only provide customers
with a detailed bill of in-
terurban and international
direct-dial calls as well as
local calls, they also enable
the caller to electronically
direct his phone where calls
may be re-routed to follow
him on his daily rounds.

Books are standing coun-
selors and preachers, al-
ways at hand, and always
disinterested; having this
advantage over oral in-
structors, that they are
ready to repeat their lesson
as often as we please.
