Air Force Leak
to Israel Subject
of CIA Probe

WASHINGTON — The
Central Intelligence
Agency is probing the pos-
sibility that the joint de-
velopment of cruise missiles
by Israel, South Africa and
Taiwan was aided by high-
level leaks of U.S. technol-
ogy to Israel, according to
syndicated 'columnist Jack
Anderson.
Anderson claims the chief
target of the CIA probe is
the U.S. /Air Force. Some
Air Force officials are sus-
pected of opposing the U.S.
policy of refusing the Is-
raelis long-range nuclear
delivery know-how and of
taking illegal steps to cir-
cumvent this policy, Ander-
son reported.

Keren-Or, now 78-years-
old, maintains the only
Jewish residential facility
in the world devoted to the
rehabilitation of blind chil-
dren who suffer simultane-

Sabbath Ritual Explained

The concluding portion of
the 31st chapter of the Book
of Proverbs is recited on
Friday evening before the
kidush is recited.
This biblical collection of
verses is properly known as
"A woman of valor" (Ayshes
Chayil). Generally, it tells
of the many virtues of the
valorous woman whose in-
dustriousness and qualities
are to be praised and re-
warded.
Some contend that this
description is an allegorical
description of the Sabbath
itself. In this sense it repre-
sents the idea that the Sab-
bath is not just a negative
concept which forbids work,
etc. It is rather a productive
element which stimulates
and improves man's prod-
uctivity as a whole by re-
storing both his physical as
well as spiritual energy by
the observance of the
weekly day of rest.
Others take the verse in
its literal sense and feel

that, before the first meal
ofthe Sabbath is enjoyed,
the virtues of the house-
wife, who preserved the
household during the
week and made the prep-
arations for the Sabbath,
should be extolled, be-
cause without her, the
Sabbath could never be
fully enjoyed.
It is also indicated that
the Sabbath is to be a day of
peace and love.
