Center to Spotlight Dance
in Event Starting Saturday

The Jewish Community
Center dance department
announces there are still
openings in its dance
classes.
Among the classes avail-
able, for nursery school-age
through adults are: Ballet,
modern, folk and jazz.
The dance department
will offer a five-day "winter
dance extravaganza"
Saturday through Dec. 24 at
the West Bloomfield com-
plex.
Highlighting the event,
which features classes,
workshops and perform-

the Ministry of Immig-
rant Absorption, oper-
ates the scholarship pro-
gram with funds contrib-
uted by world Jewry
through the United
Jewish Appeal.
The scholarship is avail-
able for bachelor's, master's
or doctoral studies. Since Is-
rael university studies are
conducted in Hebrew, most
prospective undergraduate
students from the U.S. and
Canada enroll in a one year,
fully-subsidized pre-
academic course in Hebrew
to bring their language abil-
ity up to the required level.
This too, is fully subsidized.

THE TUKELS

Former Detroiters Mr.
and Mrs. Abraham (Ber-
nice) Tukel of Lauderdale
Lakes, Fla., will be honored
at a brunch given by their
children in Boca- Raton,
Fla., on the occasion of the
couple's 50th wedding an-
niversary.
Their children are: Dr.
and Mrs. Conrad (Florence)
Goode of Bloomfield Hills
and Mr. and Mrs. Neal
(Sara Lee) Turner of
Americus, Ga.
While in Detroit, the
couple held membership in
the Farband and Cong. Bnai
Moshe. Mr. Tukel is a
member of Bnai Brith.
The couple met when
Mrs. Tukel went to work
in the clothing store
owned by Mr. Tukel.
There two were married
and worked together in
the store until their re-
tirement to Florida.
The Tukels have seven
grandchildren and one
great-grandson.

United Hebrew Schools,
the program will feature
games and crafts, Super
Heroes Day, Maccabia
Day and rollerskating.

Kathi Mann and David
Sandweiss were married
recently at the Hotel Bel Air
in Los Angeles, Calif. Rabbi
Maron of Cong. Mogen
David officiated.
The bride is the daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Edward
Hyman of Los Angeles. Par-
ents of the bridegroom are
Dr. and Mrs. Conrad Goode
of Bloomfield Hills and the
late Mr. Bertrand
Sandweiss. •
Participating in the
ceremony were the bride's
grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.
Morris Bernstein, and the
bridegroom's grandparents,
Mr. and Mrs. Abraham
Tukel, Mr. and Mrs. Nor- -
man Sandweiss and Mr. and
Mrs. Isadore Goode.
The couple is residing in
Phoenix, Ariz.
