New Jewish Agenda, I am
compelled to respond to the
"Purely Commentary" of
Nov. 21.
Remarks about the open
letter to Prime Minister
Begin published in The
Jewish News of Nov. 14 in
which New Jewish Agenda
urged that the Begin regime
re-think its priorities vis-
a-vis a Palestinian settle-
ment fail to serve the
Jewish community by tend-
ing to limit discussion and
obfuscating important is-
sues and trends within the
Jewish community.
Suggestions made in the
open letter represent a pro-
gram that a large section of
Israeli Jews support. The
program of the Sheli Peace
Party and the Peace Now
movement, which according
to the Gallup Poll repre-
sents the thinking of 25-30
percent of Israeli Jews, is
very little different from the
"advice" of the open letter.
