In an article submitted to
The Jewish News by the
Soviet Embassy in Wash-
ington, Nikolai Torop-
kovsky relates the Soviet
desire that Nazi war crimi-
nals currently living in
Western countries be re-
turned to Russia and prose-
cuted.
Toropkovsky gives de-
tails concerning several
cases, including Vladimir
Osidach, a former Nazi who
found refuge in Philadel-
phia.
"This man (Osidach) is
personally responsible for
the massacre of 14,000
Soviet Jews. As
Hauptwachtmeister of the
police in the town of Rava
Russkaya of the Lvov
region, he regularly took
part in the extermination of
the Jewish population."
The article also claims
that "several other Nazi
assistants — former
policeman Timofei Boiko
from the village of Dmitrov
in the Lvov region, Mikhail
Derkach, who worked in the
Novo-Yarichev Ghetto and
Mislay Stasiv from Raya
Russkaya have found ref-
uge in the United States."
