with juveniles, established
the Citizens Advisory
Committee on Juvenile De-
linquency and was
President Eisenhower's
representative at the Inter-
national Conference of
Juvenile Court Judges in
Brussels in 1958. He was a
delegate to the White House
Conference for Children
and Youth in 1960.
Judge Kaufman was
appointed Circuit Judge
_in May 1960 and in 1975
was elected to the Court
of Appeals. He has served
as chairman of the Equal
Opportunity Committee
of the Detroit Board of
Education and is a
member of the City Wide
Advisory Committee and
on the State Judges
Association Executive
Board.
Judge and Mrs. Kaufman
are the parents of Rose
Blake. They have nine
grandchildren and one
great-grandson.
