Falsely Solicit

The Jewish Community
Council has issued a warn-
ing against deceptive solici-
tation practices by followers
of the Hare Krishna move-
ment.
The council received a
complaint from a man who
was solicited in the Toys R
Us store parking lot in
Southfield.
Two young men, under
the guise of selling records-
from a van in the parking
lot, began talking about an
organization they repre-
sented. They had identifica-
tion marked ISKCON, and
asked for donations.
ISKCON is the Interna-
tional Society of Krishna
Consciousness.
Toys R Us management
said the men did not have
permission to solicit on

store property.
