Shaarey Zedek for their 51st annual donor event to celebrate the com- pletion of their $250,000 fund-raising campaign, they will enjoy the versatil- ity of singer, actor and entertainer Herschel Fox. Author, journalist and lecturer Robert St. John will speak on his experi- ences in Israel. Petite luncheon will be served. Fox, who has taken lead roles off Broadway and in summer theater in Canada, has been in such prod- uctions as "Can, Can," "Guys and Dolls," "Bye Bye Birdie," "Annie Get Your Gun" and "Fiddler on the Roof," among others. He is a cantor and a concert singer. He has had a radio series on WEVD, New York, titled "The World of Jewish Music With Herschel Fox." He sings in Yiddish, Ita- lian, French and in the Slavic languages. His Justice Dept. Nixes Retrial WASHINGTON (JTA) — The U.S. Justice Depart- ment said last week that it would not seek a retrial of suspected Nazi war crimi- nal Frank Walus after an appeals court reversed a lower court order to revoke his American citizenship. Walus, 58, a resident of Chicago, was found guilty by a U.S. District Judge in Illinois of having concealed his Nazi activities when he applied for citizenship. JEWISH COMMU- NITY COUNCIL: 11:30 a.m. Sunday, Channel 2, as part of "Sunday in Detroit," Kenneth Sidlow will host Richard Strichartz who will speak on "Human Rights Day and the Lack of Rights for Soviet Jews."
