Dr. Wiener's many years of
activities in the JNF and
Anna (Mrs. Israel) Wiener's
services to the Maimonides
Medical Society.
Ruben Isaacs, as the new
president of JNF Council of
Detroit, presented the hon-

appreciation of their serv-
ices.

planning a "World Gather-
ing of Jewish Holocaust
Survivors" in Jerusalem,
June 15-18, 1981. Survivors
and their families from all
over the world will travel to
Israel for a four-day "affir-
mation of the-- continuity
and survival of the Jewish
people." The Jewish Com-
munity Council of Met-
ropolitan Detroit is coor-

The World Gathering will
emphasize the significance
and legacy of the -Holocaust,
and commemorate the 36th
anniversary of liberation
from the Nazi concentration
camps. The meeting, which
has 'the endorsement of
Prime Minister Menahem
Begin, will also-serve as an
expression of solidarity and
concern for Israel.
Participants have been
asked to bring a cassette re-
cording of personal
Holocaust experiences for
the permanent archives at
Yad Vashem.
The program will in-
clude an inaugural mass
meeting and memorial
service on the grounds of
Yad Vashem in
Jerusalem and a march
of survivors from the
Knesset to the Western
Wall. There will be spe-
cial events at the three
kibutzim established by
Holocaust survivors and
one day's events will be
devoted to the children of
survivors.

Abbie Ben-Ari, Israeli
communications authority,
the guest speaker, in an
eloquent address, gave an
account of Israel's strug-
gles, of the confrontations
with dangers and the de-
fiance of them. He described
Israel Bonds as a vital need
in Israel's behalf.
Toastmaster Herman and
Rabbi Arm, in their com-
mendations, emphasized
the Wieners' many services
to Cong. Beth Achim and
Dr. Wiener's leadership in
establishing and maintain-
ing the synagogue library.
