"Sesame Street," the TV program that enchanted children all over the world, including Israel, will soon have a Hebrew language version. The American producers of the award winning series, Children's Television Workshop, announced in New York that the Hebmw language series will be pro- duced in cooperation with the Instructional Television Center of Israel (the educa- tional broadcasting chan- nel) under a $750,000 grant from the Charles Revson Foundation. The joint production will result in 65 half-hour pro- grams in which Israeli and U.S. produced material will be integrated in a Sesame Street with its own indi- vidual Israeli stamp. Goren Visits Oak-Woods Israeli Chief Rabbi Shlomo Goren was a guest at Young Israel of Oak- Woods last Saturday. He Ilas been recuperating in the Milford area from open heart surgery and was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Kurt Hertz of Oak Park for the past Shabat. His visit came as a surprise to the congre- gation and he spoke briefly before afternoon services. Mrs. Hertz • told The Jewish News that Rabbi Goren left the Cleveland area after his surgery to have a quieter recupera- tion. The Hertzes were chosen to host Rabbi and Mrs. Goren because they have a number of mutual friends. Mrs. Hertz said Rabbi Goren "has made a remark- able recovery" and was very strong throughout Shabat services. She said the Go- rens returned to Israel on Wednesday. NEW YORK — More than 100 youths — mem- bers of Masada, youth movement of the Zionist Organization of America — will participate in the ZOA 'Hanuka torch relay from Kennedy Airport to City Hall here. The youths will carry a torch kindled at the tomb of the Maccabees near Jerusalem and present it to Mayor Edward Koch of New York. The event is spon- sored by Masada of ZOA.
