member of Israel's delega-
tion to the United Nations,
will be guest speaker at the
annual Cong. Beth Achim
tribute dinner on behalf of
Israel Bonds 6:30 p.m.
Thursday at the synagogue,
it was announced by.

Wiener of Southfield, long-

has served in a number of
key diplomatic posts in
North America and Europe.
He also appears on televi-
sion, analyzing political,
economic, social and cul-
tural aspects of Israel.
Born in Johannesburg,
South Africa, he emigrated
to Israel in 1952, lived on
kibbutz for eight years and
then settled in a new de-
velopment town in the
Negev desert, where he
served on the municipal
council and was a planner of
this and other communities
in Israel.
He currently resides in
Jerusalem where he is
actively involved in the cul-
tural and economic de-
velopment of the city.

Red Cross, the shortage is
nationwide.
Type "0" blood is in
greater demand and special
because it can be used for
transfusions for patients

Blood can be donated by
anyone between the ages of
17 (with parental permis-
sion) and 65 and in good
general health.
