Prentis Cancer Center. Sylvia Gershenson, Mr. Racist, Klansman Votes Concern ADL Leaders NEW YORK — The Anti-Defamation League of Bnai Brith expressed "deep concern" over the results of two Congressional races in which avowedly racist and anti-Semitic candidates re- ceived a total of over 75,000 votes. It referred to one in Californaia's 43rd Congres- sional District where Ku Klux Klan leader Tom Metzger, running as a Democrat, received 35,000 votes, or 14 percent of those cast, and the other in Michigan's 15th district, where former Klansman and neo-Nazi Gerald Carlson won 53,000 votes on the GOP line, or about 32 percent. The Democratic Party had disavowed the candi- dacy of Metzger; the Repub- lican Party had disavoewd Carlson. The sword and the Book came from heaven wrapped together, and the Holy One said: "Keep what is written in this book, or be delivered to the sword." —Eleazar and Mrs. Joseph Slatkin, and Mr. and Mrs. Herb Steiger of Grosse Pointe Woods, head the planning committee for the show. The Shaye exhibition will con- tinue at the Burke Galleries through Dec. 9.
