Akiva Hebrew Day
School PTA will hold its an-
nual rummage sale 9 a.m.-6
p.m. Sunday at the new
school building, 27700
Southfield, Lathrup Vil-
lage.
Among the items to be
sold are: Clothing, small
appliances, toys, books,
household items, baby fur-
nishings and more. _
Proceeds will benefit the
PTA's after school enrich-

The school's adult edu-
cation series will begin
Nov. 12. Among the

the 1980s: An Encounter of
the Jewish Kind" will be di-
rected by a psychologist.

to Benefit Kids

Joy Landau (The Candy
Lady) of Oak Park will col-
lect Halloween candy for
the children at the Maxey
Boys Home and the Oak-
land County Children's Vil-
lage.
Mrs. Landau, and her
husband, Lou, have been
collecting candy to donate to
children who are unable to
go "trick or treating" on
Halloween for 22 years.
The Landaus will collect
the candy until Nov. 12,
when it will be sorted and
taken to the two children's
facilities.
Candy should be dropped
off at the Landau home,
