CAN AMERICA AFF RD CARTER?

"There are far more humane and economically sound solutions to curbing
inflation than an enforced recession, unemployment, monetary restric-
tions and high interest rates ... 6% inflation is unacceptable."

When Carter was elected President the prime interest rate was below 7% and
the inflation rate was 6%. Oct. 13, 1980, the prime interest rate was 14% and the
inflation rate 12%.

While promising to reduce the Washington bureaucracy, he created two new
super agencies of education and energy, adding 88,000 part-time employees to
the Federal payroll.

Our Navy has fewer ships today than at the time of Pearl Harbor. The U.S. Air
Force is using bombers older than the pilots flying them. Military pay is so low
that some servicemen require food stamps to feed their families.

Carter became the only American President to permit a
terrorist organization, the PLO, to open an office in Washington D.C.

Sold F-15 fighters to Saudi Arabia — Feb. 14, 1978

Permitted U.S. to vote for UN Resolution 465, condemning Israel

Considered Saudi request for missiles, extra fuel tanks and bomb racks for their

Sold nuclear fuel to India September 1980 in spirt of previous statements
opposing the spread of nuclear arms, especially to countries who refused to sign
the nuclear non-proliferation treaty.
