THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS

Friday, October 31, 1980 25

.. THIS PRESIDENT WILL NEVER
TURN HIS BACK ON ISRAEL . . ."

.

We applaud the President's momentous achievment as the major
architect of the Camp David Accords. We recognize that this Adminis-
tration has given more financial aid (over $10 billion) to Israel than all
other administrations combined. We believe the President when he
says, ". . . This President will never turn his back on Israel . . . This
President will not use economic and military aid as a lever against
Israel . . . This President will never "reassess" America's relation-
ship with Israel."

We commend the President for his tireless efforts at ensuring the
human rights of people from all nations. His foreign policy reflects a
universal concern for human dignity and political self-determination.
President Carter continues to urge the Soviet Union not to diminish the
flow of Jewish emigration. He has said: "We will not rest until every
Soviet-Jew is free to emigrate."

President Carter and Vice President Mondale are committed to up-
holding the traditional democratic principles which we have all strug-
gled to ensure. We must not lose the fight for the separation of Church
and state and other progressive ideals essential to our welfare.

THE CARTER/MONDALE ADMINISTRATION HAS A RECORD OF ACHIEVEMENT
WE FULLY ENDORSE. WE URGE YOU TO JOIN US IN SUPPORT OF THE
