THE DETROIT JEWISH NEWS Eban Gives Sadat Vote of Confidence NEW YORK — Former Foreign Minister Abba Eban voiced his confidence in Egyptian President Anwar Sadat recently, when he told a group at New York's Cong. Bnai Jeshu- run of a meeting with Sadat in-Cairo. Eban recounted how im- patient the Egyptian lead- ers was with those who wonder out loud what might happen to the peace process with Israel "if Sad -at goes." "Why do they keep harp- ing on 'if Sadat goes?' " the resident asked. "What bout when Carter and Begin go? Why am I the only one of the signers of the Camp David accords subject to the laws of political and biological mortality?" Eban added that of the three, he was betting on Sadat as having the best chance of still being in power next year. The recently completed report, done by the McKin- sey consulting firm, ad- vises, among other things, cancelling of unprofitable routes and more aggressive marketing tactics for the airline.
