Fredric Newman will re-
late his experiences on the
recent President's Mission
to Poland and Israel at a
special awards meeting
honoring 1980 Allied
Jewish Campaign Met-
ropolitan Division workers
on Sunday in the Senior
Adult Lounge, Room 239, of
the Jewish Community
Center, West Bloomfield.
Newman, a University of
Michigan graduate in in-
ternational relations, has
spent time in Israel as a
scholar at the Brandeis
Univeristy Jacob Hiatt In-
stitute of Mideast Studies.
His lecture will follow a con-
tinental breakfast for meet-
ing participants at 9:45 a.m.

Pioneer Women Donor Hosts
Mideast Analyst Ms. Good

Greater Detroit Council,
Pioneer Women, will hold
its 50th annual donor
luncheon noon Thursday at
Adat Shalom Synagogue.
There is a charge for the
luncheon, in addition to a
minimum donor pledge.
Nancy Good, noted Mid-
dle East analyst, will be the
featured speaker. Ms. Good
is a doctoral candidate in
political science and inter-
national relations at the
University of Michigan. She
is also an international re-
searcher, lecturer, writer.
The anthems will be sung
by Rhoda Friedman, ac-
companied by Sonia
Lipenholtz, who will also
provide piano background
music during the luncheon.
The invocation will be re-
cited by Sarah Levin.
This year's donor book
has been edited by Frieda
Barris, Lorraine Gale,

rector of Southfield's civil
defense and member of the
Jewish War Veterans, won
11 national awards in the
annual contest sponsored by
the United States Civil .De-
fense Council.
Among them are: First
place, editorial newspaper,
cartoon, and editorial radio;
second place, audio visual,
newsletters, "Speaking
With A Million," editorial
from a weekly newspaper
and cartoon from a weekly
newspaper; third place, car-
toon from a weekly news-
paper, news photo from a
weekly newspaper and
news story from a weekly
newspaper.

Radomer Aid Society will
hold its installation of offi-
cers and a Mr. and Mrs.
surprise party 6 p.m. Nov. 4
