Former Bnai Brith Official
Due at Hillel Dedication

Rabbi Benjamin M.
Kahn, former executive vice
president of Bnai Brith, will
be the keynote speaker at
the dedication of the Bnai
Brith Hillel Foundation
building at Michigan State
University 4 p.m. Sunday at
402 Linden, East Lansing.
The facility is now in full
use.
In addition to dormitory
space on the second floor,
there is also a chapel,
kosher kitchen, lounge
areas and rooms for classes.
Rabbi Kahn, who served
Bnai Brith as executive vice
president from 1971 to
1976, came to Bnai Brith
from Penn State. For 12
years he was International
Hillel director. During
these years was a member of
the Peace Corps National
Advisory Council.
A member of the execu-
tive board of the interna-
tional Conference for
Jewish Communal Serv-
ice, Rabbi Kahn also is a
member of the National
Association of Professors
of Hebrew, the Jewish
National Historical
Society. He also is active
in the American Civil
Liberties Union and
ORT.
An adjunct professor at
the American University
at Washington, D.C., he
co-authored "Exploring
Religious Ideas: The
Great Western Faiths."
At present he is working
on a study of the HilleI
movement on the Ameri-
can college campus.
Heading the ar-
rangements committee is
Milton M. Weinstein, trea-
surer of the Bnai Brith In-
ternational H 11el Commis-
sion. Assisting him are
David Bittker, president of
Bnai Brith District 6; Sol
Moss of the International
Board of Governors; and
Nathan D. Rubenstein, In-
ternational Hillel commis-
sioner. The committee also
includes the presidents of
the men's and women's Bnai
Brith Council, Evie Tichik
and Floyd Borenstein.
Other committee mem-

Pitt, Irving Siegel, Marvin
S. Ruby, Louis Segel, Alan

Bond Reception
to Hear Israeli
Air Pioneer

Col. Peleg Tamir, one.of
the architects of Israel's Air
Force, will be a guest at a
leadership reception on be-
half of Israel Bonds, 8 p.m.
Wednesday in the Bloom-
field Hills home of Dr. and
Mrs. Firooz Banooni.
The reception is being
held in advance of Sinai
Hospital of Detroit's Israel
Bond Tribute Dinner,
scheduled for Nov. 18 at
Adat Shalom Synagogue.
Honored at the dinner
will be Dr. Eli. M. Brown,
chairman of the Depart-
ment of Anesthesiology at
Sinai Hospital since 1954,
and professor and chair-
man, Department of Anes-
thesiology at Wayne State
University School of
Medicine. Dr. Brown.will be
recipient of Israel's
Maimonides Award, in
recognition of his outstand-
ing contributions to the
cause of humanitarianism.
Col. Tamir, a pioneer
member of the IAF, is cur-
rently Director General of
the Manufacturer's Asso-
ciation of Israel.
