melodies interspersed with
ancestral Russian and Uk-
ranian songs. In time, they
began to compose original
Israeli melodies for festivals
and other ceremonial occa-
sions.
• The Gevatron have re-
corded 10 albums to date
and have won the Golden
Record Award for their re-
cord "Gvanim." In addition,
they have one gold album,
"Tones," and one silver
(their 10th release) "Beauti-
ful Songs."

The Center's Runners
Club will sponsor a fun run
and sports medicine discus-
sion 9 a.m. Sunday, meeting
in the Center parking lot.
Dr. Robert Teitge, direc-
tor of Henry Ford Hospital's
center for sports medicine,
will be the guest speaker.
Refreshments will be avail-
able after the run. The fun
run is open to the public at
no charge.

The Flint Jewish Federa-
tion will see the opera
"Rigoletto" Oct. 29 at the
Music Hall Center for the
Performing Arts in Detroit.
The bus will leave from
Flint's Temple Beth El at
9:45 a.m. Luncheon will be
served at the Magic Pan in
Troy and the opera will fol-
low.

U-M Profs Hosea' Published

"Hosea," a translation of
the biblical book of the pro-
phet, co-authored by Uni-
versity of Michigan Prof.
David Noel Freedman, has
been released by Doubleday
for its Anchor Bible series.
Prof. Freedman, director
of the U M Program on
Studies in Religion, also is
editor of the Anchor Bible
series.
"Hosea" is co-authored by
Francis I. Anderson, associ-
ate professor of history at
Macquarie University in

information about gas war-
fare.
Shapiro was gassed while
fighting in France during
World War I. The informa-
