NEW YORK — Close to 1,000 delegates from throughout the U.S. will converge on Washington, D.C. for the' 82nd national convention of the Zionist Organization of America, Thursday through Oct. 19 at the Capital Hilton Hotel. Noting that the theme of the ZOA gathering is "Washington/Jerusalem — Capitals of Freedom," Ivan J. Novick, president of the ZOA, said that "Jerusalem was and has always been the heart of Zion." Police accused Rabbi Amram Korach of paying an $850 bribe to obtain a larger grant for the Insti- tute for Yemenite Jewish Heritage in Bnai Brak.
