Alpha Omega, interna-
tional dental fraternity, at
its "Evening With the
Presidents," last Saturday
night, at Fairlane Manor,
expanded its professional
activities to universities
with financial cooperation
for student aid and activi-
ties.
In behalf of the Michigan
Chapter of Alpha Omega,
Dr. Lawrence Wenokur,
president of the local chap-
ter, presented $5,000 each
to Dr. Harold Shapiro,
president of the University
of Michigan, and Fr. Robert
A. Mitchell, president of the
University of Detroit, for
services in their respective
dental schools.
In this fashion the Alpha
Omega services were ex-
tended internationally. The
fraternity was a pioneer in
the establishment of the
dental college at the He-
brew University in
Jerusalem and now pro-
vides assistance to the Tel
Aviv University dental col-
lege.
Dr. Sanford Schein-
gold, international
president of Alpha
Omega, the third of the
presidents to be honored
at the dinner, presented
plaques to Dr. Shapiro
and Fr. Mitchell "in
appreciation for the aca-
demic adcom-
plishments."
