The religious spokesmen, of whicfi Schindler is the only Jewish representative, declared: "Continued non- ratificatition prohibits the United States from par- ticipating in some of the most importnat interna- tional forums for the protec- tion of human rights at a time when it is demonstra- bly in the nation's interest and purpose to strengthen international law in the field of human rights."
