nian terrorists after they
failed in an attempt to infil-
trate into Israel.
According to Haddad, a
militia patrol encountered
the terrorists on their way
to Israeli lines. An ex-
change of fire ensued and
the terrorists retreated to
the area controlled by a
Dutch contingent of the
United Nations Interim
Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL).
Haddad claimed that in-
stead of placing them under
arrest, the Dutch soldiers
provided the terrorists with
transportation back to their
base at Tyre.
Israeli naval comman-
dos carried out a surprise
raid last week on Tyre
and the nearby
Rashidiyeh refugee
camp.
According to Lebanese
sources, the Israeli force
consisted of four naval craft
and a helicopter and
achieved surprise but later
encountered heavy fire from
terrorist shore batteries and
anti-aircraft guns.
United Nations sources in
Lebanon said one child was
killed and 34 people were in-
jured in the Israeli attack.
