COUPLETS UNIT will ADL Names Deena Perlman Deena Perlman has been appointed community con- sultant for the Michigan office of the Anti- Defamation League of Bnai Brith. Ms. Pearlman previously was at WDIV-TV where she spent the past two years producing and developing daily talk shows, including "This Morning," "Midday" and "Taylor Made." In previous years, she was involved in the production of everything from televi- sion news to prime-time documentaries at KYW-TV in Philadelphia, and during that tenure, created the pilot for a Jewish public af- fairs program that is still in existence today. Prior to her television career, Ms. Pearlman, who was educated at the University of Pennsyl- vania and Baltimore He- brew College, was a re- search assistant in the economies department of the University of Pennsylvania, a Hebrew teacher at Ner Tamid in Springfield, Pa., and an intern with the Maryland State's Attorney. She served as a member of the board of directors of the Baltimore Jewish Commu- nity Center, has had experi- ence with Bnai Brith, and had an intensive study tour at Ulpan Akiba in Natanya, Israel. In addition to general pro- fessional duties in the office and the region, Ms. Pearlman will service out- state communities. CJF Meeting Hosts Detroiters Several of Detroit's Jewish communal leaders were major particpants at a recent Council of Jewish Federations (CJF) leader- ship meeting held Sept. 4-7 in New York. Attending the meeting were Jewish Welfare Fed- eration President George M. Zeltzer; Federation Executive Committee Chairman Martin E. Citrin, who heads the CJF Na- tional Campaign Planning Committee; Advisory Federation former President Mandell L. Be- rman; Women's Division President Shelby. Tauber; and Carolyn Greenberg, regional vice chairman of .the CJF Women's Division and former local Women's Division president.
