dark wood, red ceilings,
brown beams, stained
glass, etc. . . . including
Mexican strolling musi-
cians Wednesday
through Sunday.
During lunch there re-
cently, Mexican music ho-
vered overhead as we ate
El Nibble Nook's Fiesta
Chico ($3.95) . . . Taco
Tinga (a rolled taco stuffed
with shredded beef, as-
sorted • chilies, topped with
sour cream), and an
enchilada stuffed with beef,
various spices and topped
with melted cheese . . . The
dish was served with rice,
beans and cole slaw.
JIMMY LAUNCE him-
self stars in Neil Simons'
"Chapter Two" at Alfred's
Dinner Theater in the lower
level of Troy's Somerset
Mall . . . It'll run every
Friday and Saturday
through December . . .
with matinee performances
starting Wednesday.
TIM
SCHROT,
guitarist-vocalist, performs
7:30-11:30 p.m. Wednesday
through Saturday at
Meriwether's on Telegraph
N. of 10 Mile.
IF ALL THE show biz
people Len Borovoy helped
through the years would get
together . . . they could
give him a wonderful
memorial . . . Len, booking
agent who recently passed
away, assisted many of to-
day's greats and near-
greats when they needed
work . . . Trouble is that
not too many who hit the top
remember their lean years
. . . or those who helped
them.
WONDER WHY a
memorial service by fellow
musicians has never been
given for the late Hal Gor-
don? . . . Surely he de-
served it . . . and such a
gesture by those who
worked with Hal or knew
him would not be too late.
A LOT OF experience
comes to the new Nosh Deli-
catessen Restaurant open-
ing sometime in October
. . . on 10 Mile, east of
Evergreen . : . At the
carry-out counter will be
Morris Leinoff and his al-
most 50 years . . . (he re-
members when corned beef
sandiches were two for 15
cents on Westminister . . .
They were 60c years later at
his Louis and Leinoff on
Seven Mile) . . . Manager
Peter Mitoff had 20 years in
the eating game . . . prior
to his 10 years of barrister
work.
SPAGHETTI CO. ETC.
on Middlebelt and
Plymouth at the south end
of Wonderland Shopping
Center doesn't have a magic
show any longer . . . But as
of Sept. 26, a puppet show
will reign every Friday and
Saturday through Nov. 1 in
its very popular children's
night club where adults are
allowed only when accom-
panied by a child 12 or
under . . . Reservations are
suggested.
TOPINKA'S COUN-
TRY HOUSE on Seven
Mile and Telegraph has
gone country-western . . .
