`Raisins With Almonds' to Be Aired

"Rozhinkes Mit Mandlin"
(Raisins With Almonds), a
program featuring Jewish
humor, music and drama,
will be aired by three
Michigan radio stations
next week.
The program will be
heeard 8:05 p.m. Tuesday

on WUOM-FM (91.7) in
Ann Arbor and 8:05 p.m.
Tuesday on WVGR-FM
(104.1) in Grand Rapids.
The program also will be
heard 8 p.m. Thursday on
WAUS-FM (90.7) in Ber-
rien Springs. It also will be
heard in Canada.

and the Holocaust" at an

based on the two-record Liv-
ing Archives Ltd. album of
"Rozhinkes Mit Mandlin."
Included are selections
from theater and film
from Shakespeare to Mel
Brooks. Yiddish, canto-
rial and Hasidic music
will be heard as well as
traditional songs and an-
thems from the East
European countries from
which Jews immigrated.
There are memories,
stories and dramatic
readings, all focusing on the
Jewish experience.
Coordinators of the
documentary project were
Rita Jacobs Willens, co-
founder of Chicago's fine
arts station, WFMT, and
David L. Willens, composer,
and musician.
