In every occupation or
profession. Israel has its
citizens who achieve fame.
One such person is Yehuda
Isk, who has been called "an
inexplicable phenomenon of
nature," the "man with the
electric hands, - and a
"healer."
This Polish-born, 58-
year-old Orthodox Jew,
whose home is in Israel, ex-
plains that "energy trans-
mitted through the palms of
my hands brings about
spontaneous cures of dis-
ease and chronic disorders."
He believes he has cured
more than 95 percnet of his
patients who suffered from
migraine headaches and
bronchial asthma, espe-
cially young children, as
well as 70 percent of people
suffering from blood circu-
lation problems.
One of his more un-
usual patients is Angie
Brooks of Liberia, a
former president of the
UN General Assembly,
whom Isk cured of a
stubborn chronic cough
which had defied treat-
ment by a string of spe-
cialists.
Isk notes with pride that
many Hasidic Jews are his
patients, sent by their rab-
bis. In an interview at his
office in the Excelsior Hotel,
on the West Side of Manhat-
tan in New York City, Isk,
who is usually here in the
U.S. in the summer and fall,
likes to tell the incidents of
his success: a three-year-old
Israeli girl who never
walked, walked after he
healed her; how a five-
year-old Israeli boy, con-
fined to a wheelchair, stood
up on his legs; how an
American woman who is
epileptic and is being
treated by Isk now is being
cured and can finally hold
down a job.
Both here and in his Is-
raeli office in the Sinai
Hotel in Tel Aviv, he is also
treating alcoholics.
How did it all begin? How
is this owner of electric
hands accepted in the U.S.
and in Israel? What is the
force in his fingers and his
body, or as he prefers to call
it, the force in his brain?
Back in 1963, this
former Hadera typewri-
ter repairman had an ex-
cruciating headache
while driving. He recalls:
"I pulled over, put my
hands on my head, and soon
found that my headache had
disappeared. I found this
odd and started trying it out
on friends with headaches.
These aren't always easy to
find. Once I got into the Tel
Aviv-Haifa train ... there
at least you have a captive
audience . . . and asked if
anyone had a headache. The
passengers thought I was
quite mad. And of course,
these results are not always
reliable, since some people
feigned headaches out of
curiosity."
Since then he has cured
thousands of patients, in-
cluding — confirmed by the
Israeli press — a cancer
patient, a blind girl, a kid-

ney patient: this, in addi-
tion to his other achieve-
ments in curing "minor dis-
eases such as asthma,
headaches, backaches,
stomachaches and blood
disorders."
After he discovered that
he could transfer energy
from his fingertips himself,
he still could not believe it.
He wanted some proof.
That's why on a visit to
America he went to UCLA
in California where his fin-
gers were photographed. He
was informed in writing by
Dr. Thelma Moss, the re-
searcher herself:
"Your body contains
electrical energy which is
transferred to the
patient's body through
your fingertips. Accord-
ing to the photographs
taken of your hands be-
fore the treatment, there
are radiant rays around
your right hand fingers.
The radiation gradually
diminishes during the
treatment until it finally
disappears, and all this
while the faint aura in
the patient becomes
strengthened gradually
in the process of treat-
ment."
He once asked Dr. Bar-
bara Rotenberg of Hadera
about the force in his fingers
and body: "The force of your
fingers, and your body," she
wrote, "is an electromagne-
tic one that evidently you
have in great surplus and
your patient is lacking of
it."
Isk says he never tells his
patients to stop seeing a
doctor. nor does he ever tell
a patient to stop taking
medicine.
People are beginning, too,
to call on skeptic medical
professionals to take a hard
look at the work of Yehuda
Isk. Meanwhile, his clien-
tele is spreading. They come
from all over the country,
Jew and non-Jew; Ameri-
can, European, South
American. "If someone is
sick, he's a human being; it
doesn't matter what na-
tionality he is," said Isk.

When ancient opinions
and rules of life are taken
away, the loss cannot possi-
bly be estimated. From that
moment we have no com-
pass to govern us.
