Classes are for children
and adults, beginners to ad-
vanced. Registration is still
open for fall at the main
complex and at the Morris
Branch.
Harriet Berg is the dance
department director and
founder of the Young Dan-
cers Guild. She is also artis-
tic director of the Festival
Dancers, an adult repertory
company-in-residence at
the Jewish Center.
Creative rhythmics is a
class stressing coordina-
tion, space relationship
awareness, rhythmic
awareness, energy re-
lease and body discipline
for youngsters 3-5 years
old. The class is taught by
Lilo Fauman, who is on
the faculty of Wayne
State University.
Belly dancing and
Jewish-Israeli-Yemenite
folk dancing are taught by
Rachel Jacobs.
Joining the Center Dance
Department this year will
be Justina Theokas, who
has studied jazz, modern
dance and ballet both here
and abroad; Judith
Willacker who will be
teaching tap; Lisa Pershin
in ballet; and returning to
the Center, Karen Freed-
land, who in addition to
teaching modern dance and
ballet will be assistant di-
rector of the Young Dancers
Guild.

Godboldo, Chris Black Ze-

van, Nora Nador and Elaine
Serling complete the de-
partment.

The Center announces it
has openings for fall
enrollment in all of its child
care programs. The Center
Child Development Center
houses several programs
under one roof — child care
facilities, nursery school,
and for the first time this
year, kindergarten classes.
