The security forces said that Ibrahim Abu Ali claimed he was acting alone when he gunned down Yehoshua Saloma, 23, as he was walking through the Hebron marketplace. Saloma, originally from Denmark, was a student at the Yeshivat Hesed in Kiryat Arba, where he com- bined Torah study with serving on military patrols. Abu Ali said that he took a bus home after shooting Saloma twice in the head. He denied any connection with the massacre six weeks later of six yeshiva students in Hebron.
