Mr. and Mrs. James
Schossberger celebrated
their 56th wedding an-
niversary Aug. 17. Attend-
ing the celebration were Mr.
and Mrs. Max Glass, sister
and brother-in-law; Mr. and
Mrs. Max Jaffe and Mr. and
Mrs. Louis Cohen, children;
Mr. and Mrs. David Cooper
and Mrs. Bernard Fantich
and Ronald Cohen,

grandchildren. The celebra-
tion also was the occasion to
mark the 84th birthday of
Helen Glass, whose 'birth-
day was Aug. -20.

(Mollie) Stein, former De-
troiters of Miami, Fla., cele-
brated their 40th wedding
anniversary Aug. 18. The
Steins retired to Florida
eight years ago. They have
two daughters and two
granddaughters.

Couple Celebrates 50th

Mr. and Mrs. Milton
Weiss of Southfield will
celebrate their 50th .wed-
ding anniversary Sunday at
a family brunch at Kingsley
Inn. They were married in
Detroit on Aug. 31, 1930.
Their children are
Corinne Gorchoff of Colum-
bus, Ohio; and Mr. and Mrs.
Marvin (Eleanor) Rosen
and Mr. and Mrs. Arnold
(Beverly) Weiss. The senior
Weisses have nine
grandchildren.
Mr. Weiss was for many
years a sales representative
for Metropolitan Life Insur-
ance Co. He currently is in
the jewelry business. Mrs.
Weiss is a cosmetics dis-
tributor.

The Kingsley Inn lunch-

Adolescent Psychiatric
Care Annex at the Geha

Psychiatric Hospital in
Petah Tikva, Israel.
The Steinhardt annex
will offer a day-care pro-
gram for youth age 12-18,
consultation services,
youth community serv-
ices and a teaching
facility for medical stu-
dents.
Dr. Martin is co-
chairman of the testimonial
committee along with Irwin
Shaw.

Beer and pop will be dispensed on the course
during the day.

The Sholem Aleichem In-
stitute will honor its past
president, Robert A. Benyas
8:30 p.m. Saturday at North
Park Place.

New York delegate to the
Democratic National Con-
vention said this week that
he is waiting for a response
from the White House on a
petition signed by 250 dele-
gates demanding President
Carter adhere to the Demo-
cratic Party's platform on
Jerusalem.
Sam Zalman Gdanski, a
Spring Valley, N.Y., lawyer
and Rockland County legis-
lator who was a delegate
pledged to Sen. Edward
Kennedy of Massachusetts,
told the Jewish Telegraphic
Agency that the answer he
receives will decide whether
he supports Carter in the
November election.

nominated by the Demo-
cratic Party as a candidate
for the University of Michi-
gan Board of Regents.
Hertzberg, 53, is a senior
partner in the Detroit law
firm of Hertzberg, Jacob
and Weingarten. He is a
graduate of U-M's school of
literature, science and arts
and the law school.
Hertzberg is a member of
the Democratic National
Committee and has
attended every national
convention since 1960. He
has served as finance direc-
tor and treasurer of the
Michigan Democratic
