An inaugural enrollment
luncheon of the Israel Bonds
Golda Meir Club, the first
such event in Michigan for
the recently established na-
tional honorary society, will
be held at the home of Mrs.
Edward C. (Julie) Levy, Jr.
of Birmingham at noon
Sept. 17, it was announced
by Leah Snider, Detroit Is-
rael Bonds Women's Di-
vision chairman.
Special guest at the event
will be Major General
Natan Sharoni, head of
military planning for the
General Staff of the Israel
Defense Forces. Gen. Sha-
roni is responsible for plan-
ning and implementing Is-
rael's military redeploy-
ment from the Sinai to the
Negev.
Prior to receiving his
most recent appointment,
Gen. Sharoni was assistant
head of General Staff de-
partment operations. He
was appointed brigadier
general in 1972 and served
as head staff officer for Is-
rael's Southern Command
and then as head artillery
officer for the Israel Defense
Forces.
A Sabra, born in Petah
Tikva, he has been a
member of the Israel De-
fense ForCes since 1952
and has held a number of
commands in artillery
units. He served with
great distinction in both
the 1956 Sinai Campaign
and the Six-Day War.

Book Sale Runs
Through Tuesday

The annual Brandeis
University National
Women's Committee used
book sale will continue
through Tuesday at the
Tel-12 Mall.
Books are arranged in 50
categories, among them fic-
tion, first editions, drama,
political science, sports,
paperbacks, psychology.
Proceeds from the sale
benefit the Brandeis Uni-
versity libraries. The sale is
held during mall hours: 10
a.m.-9 p.m. daily and noon-5
p.m. Sunday.
