Holiday services at Cong.
Shaarey Shomayim. Serv-

Schwartz was graduated

from Wayne State Univer-
sity and the College of Oste-
opathic Medicine at Michi-
gan State University.
He officiated as a cantor
for many years in Mt. Cle-
mens.

Bnai Israel Move Slated

Cong. Bnai Israel will
transfer its Torah scrolls to
their new home at 4200
Walnut Lake Rd., West
Bloomfield, in a special
procession and ceremony 10
a.m. Sept. 7.
According to President
Dr. Leonard Gaba, Rabbi
Philip Blachorsky will lead
the procession following

morning services at the
congregation's temporary
chapel at 71 1/2 N. Saginaw,
Pontiac.

Installs New Officers, Board

Emanuel Mittelman re-
cently was installed as
president of Young Israel of
Greenfield. Mittelman was
previously Gabbai, officer
and board member at .both
Young Israel of Northwest
Detroit and Young Israel of
Greenfield.
Elected with him were
Gordon Ryback, first vice
president; Wolf Gold, sec-
ond vice president (Gabbai);
Sandy Eisenberg, trea-
surer; Dr. Steven Lorch, Eli
Apt and Herman Golden-
