Lipszyc Family Undertakes N. ,Michigan Mitzva Mission

Rabbi Yitzchok Lipszyc,
Mrs. Lipszyc and four of
their children are traveling
through Northern Michi-
gan "to reach the several
hundred isolated Jewish
families in the Upper
Peninsula and to give them
a taste of authentic
Judaism."
The couple will speak to
groups and individuals in
their homes and at their
jobs. The trip is sponsored
by Martin Goldman.

New Director
for JDC-Israel

NEW YORK — Zev
Hymowitz has assumed the
post of director of JDC-
Israel, the agency responsi-
ble for the Israel programs
of the American Jewish
Joint Distribution Commit-
tee (JDC)
Hymowitz first joined the
JDC staff in November
1976.

needs of small Canadian

been established by the
Canadian Jewish Congress.

The Lipszyces, who are
acting as shlikhim —
emissaries — of the
Lubavitcher Rebbe
Shlita, ,are traveling in
the Chabad House on
Wheels, a mobile home
equipped with kosher
kitchen, Jewish library
and audio visual aids,
conversation area,
synagogue and guest ac-
commodations:

A particular aim of the
Lipszyces is to stress these
mitzvot: Stronger love for
fellow Jews, Jewish educa-
tion, daily Torah study, tefi-
lin, mezuzot, tzedaka, sac-
red books in the home, ob-
servance of the laws of
Jewish family purity and
lighting of the Sabbath and
holiday candles.
