Six Michigan BBYOers
are attending the 1980
BBYO international con-
vention, which runs
through Wednesday at the
Bnai Brith Perlman Camp
in Starlight, Pa. The theme
of the convention is "Erev
Machar — Let Us Go Forth
Into the World."
Highlights of the conven-
tion include the presenta-
tion of the Sam Beber Dis-
tinguished AZA Alumnus
Award to Neil Goldschmidt,
secretary of transportation
in President Carter's
Cabinet, and the dedication
of a plaque in memory of
Supreme Court Justice
William 0. Douglas in the
BBYO Memorial Grove.

Rose AZA continued its
perfect record in the AZA
Softball League with a 10-5
win over Jolson AZA. Rose
now leads the league
with a 9-0 record followed
by Beber AZA at 7-2. The
games are played 9 a.m.
Sundays at Thompson Mid-
dle School in Southfield.
Spectators are welcome.

MDA Fete Honorary Chair

Paul Zuckerman and
William Davidson, both
nationally-recognized lead-
ers in tasks in behalf of Is-
rael, have been named hon-
orary chairmen of the an-
nual dinner of the Magen
David Adorn — Israel's
equiValent of the Red Cross
— to be held Sept. 7 at Adat
Shalom Synagogue. The
event will honor the na-
tional president of MDA,
Joseph Handleman, and
Sally (Mrs. Joseph) Hand-
leman, former Detroiters
now residing in Miami Be-
ach.
The co-chairmen of the
dinner committee are Louis
Silverfarb and Dr. Norman
Segal.

Stoler, former Detroiters of
Hollywood, Fla., announce
the engagement of their
daughter, Eileen Sue
Stoler,

world chairman of services
for the United Jewish Ap-
peal.
Handleman was honored
on his 75th birthday by 75
friends from a score of cities
throughout the country, in-
cluding 10 Detroiters, at the
home of his daughter and
son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.
Hans Muller, on Aug. 2. Na-
tional MDA leaders were
among the guests who
brought greetings to the
MDA president and his fam-
ily.

Mr. and Mrs. Julius
Iskow of West Bloomfield
announce the engagement
of their daughter, Carol
Lynn Iskow, to John
David Allen, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Maurice Allen, former
Detroiters of Chesterfield,
Mo. Miss Iskow was
graduated from Michigan
State University with a
Bachelor of Science degree
in merchandizing and tex-
tiles. Her fiance earned a
BA degree in business ad-
ministration from MSU. An
October wedding is
planned.

Dobin Leads MDA Effort
for Red Cross Recognition

MIAMI — Rabbi Rubin R.
Dobin has been re-
appointed international
chairman of Operation
Recognition, which is seek-
ing to persuade the Interna-
tional Red Cross to grant of-
ficial recognition to Magen
David Adorn, Israel's emer-
gency medical and blood
service.
The international effort
on behalf of MDA says that
