year rabbinical student at
Hebrew Union College-
Jewish Institute of Religion
in Cincinnati, will occupy
the pulpit of Temple Israel

Goodman, who will be or-
dained in June 1981 as a
rabbi in the Reform move-
ment, was graduated from
the Temple Israel Religious

The Livonia Jewish Con-
gregation is sponsoring its
1980 Jewish Ethnic Festi-
val and third annual Mer-
chandise Market 10 a.m.-5
p.m. Aug. 17. at the
synagogue.
The Jewish National
Fund and Zionist Organiza-
tion of America-Detroit Dis-
trict will have display
booths and Sol Lachman
will read Jewish poetry.
Violinist Flo Robbins will
perform music written by
Jewish composers. Folk
singer Stephanie Bentley
will sing and play guitar.
Yiddish and Jewish books
dating to the 1800s will be
displayed by Cantor
Emeritus Henry J. Blank.
Sonny Segal and Doug
Yam, along with the South-
field Israeli Folk Dancerg,
will present a special dance
program at 3 p.m.
