Max Kadushin

NEW YORK (JTA) — Dr.
Max Kadushin, professor
emeritus at the Jewish
Theological Seminary of
America (JTS) and an
authority on rabbinic
thought, died July 23. He
was 84.
A graduate of New York
University, he was ordained
in 1920 at the JTS.
Kadushin received a docto-
rate from the JTS in 1932
and the honorary degree of
Doctor of Letters in 1952.
He had served congrega-
tions in New York and in
Chicago and had been asso-
ed with the seminary
1920.
prolific writer, he was
the author of a number of
books, including "Organic
Thinking: A Study of Rab-
binic Thought" (1938); The
Rabbinic Mind" (1952); and
"Worship and Ethics"
(1964).

tee, at its third meeting held
recently in Cleveland,
charted new programs to
ensure a flow of funds
needed by the JNF to meet
its future role — that of
helping to build an Israel at
peace.
Seminars to be held dur-
ing the 1980-1981 fiscal
year, new tax approaches
and the incestigation into
the establishment of an
endowment fund were
among the topics covered.
