manner in which that right
should be exercized and the
limits of that right."
Howard Squadron,

Stollman Advises Against
Despair at Bar-Ilan Fete
A day after his return
from Israel and two days
after his re-election as
chairman of the global
board of directors of Bar-
Ilan University, at meet-
ings in Ramat-Gan, Israel,
Phillip Stollman advised
local Bar-Ilan supporters to
reject despair and to be op-
timistic about Israel's fu-
ture.
He spoke at a reception in
the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Ronald Berman to a large
group of Bar-Ilan suppor-
ters, who gathered to hear
an update on the univer-
sity's activities, both on
campus and in Detroit.
Stollman recalled that in
1951, in conversations with
the late Dr. Pinhas Chur-
gin, the seed was planted for
the establishment of Bar-
Ilan University and it be-
came a reality in 1955, Dr.
Churgin becoming its first
president.
At last Thursday's meet-
ing, Abraham. Selesney
spoke about the Bar-Ilan
University achievements,
relating his experiences as a
student in the first of the
university's classes in 1955.

Moonie Head's Jewish Claim
Disputed by Local Couple
The actions of Dr. Mose
Durst, the new president of
Rev. Spa Myung Moon's
Unification Church, have
incensed a Southfield
couple whose son has been a
member of the "Moonie"
cult since 1972.
Ed and Ruth Schnee, who
have made continued at-
tempts to lure their son,
Jeremy, 28, away from a
group that they see as "to-
tally corrupt," object to
Durst's claim that he. is
Jewish.
According to Mrs. Schnee,
Durst was excommunicated
by the Supreme Rabbinic
Court of America in March
1978. Mrs. Schnee also
charged that the Unifica-
tion Church is an anti-
Semitic organization and
cited a study by the Na-
tional Council of Christian
Churches (NCCC) which
labeled the "Divine Princi-
ple" (the doctrine of the Un-
ification Church) as "anti-
Semitic and non-
Christian."
"The attitude ex-
pressed in 'Divine Prin-
ciple' toward Jews is
consistently and unre-
lievedly negative and
amounts to a pervasive
condemnation of an
entire people," Mrs.
Schnee said.
According to Mrs. Schnee,
"In 'Master Speaks,' a col-
lection of speeches by Moon
himself, there is a reference
to the Holocaust to the effect
that the killing of six mil-
lion Jews was just inde-
mnification for their killing
of Christ.
"Dr. Durst heads
organization which is to-
tally anti-Semitic and a
threat to the entire
Jewish community. He
should be exposed as the
scoundrel he is, so that he
and his minions may be
prevented from continu-
ing to seduce our young
people into virtual men-
tal slavery to mindlessly
aid Moon and his hen-
chmen in their nefarious
work."
The NCCC recently
turned down the Unifica-
tion Church's membership
application.
