their 40th wedding an-
niversary.

granddaughters, inaugu-
rated a grove of 1,000 trees
in the American Bicenten-
nial Forest in Jerusalem in
honor of the occasion.
Rabbi M. Robert Syme
blessed the couple after they
repeated the wedding vows
spoken 40 years ago.

2 tbsps. margarine
1 large onion, diced
1 green pepper, diced
2 stalks celery, diced
3 carrots, minced
bunch green onions, minced
2 cloves garlic, minced
41/2 ozs. dry mushroom soup
mix
1 tbsp. parsley flakes
Saute vegetables with
minced garlic; add powdered
mushroom soup mix and 3 1/2
quarts of water and bring to a
boil. Add parsley flakes.

Edward Goldberg, co-
owner of the Atlas Furni-
ture and Appliance Co. in
Bay City, died July 4 at age
65.
Born in Chicago, Ill., Mr.
Goldberg lived in Bay City
and Essexville for 26 years.
He was a member of Cong.
Beth Israel. He served in
the U.S. Army during
World War II. He resided at
1904 Ames, Essexville.
He is survived by his wife,
Dorothy; two sons, Eugene
of New York City and San-
ford; a daughter, Sheila;
three brothers, William, of
Flint, Sidney of Sepulveda,
Calif., and Clarence of West
Hollywood, Calif.
