he Best of Everything

(Continued from Page 33)
Windows behind the bar are
from a synagogue . . . as are
benches and booths
throughout Spaghetti Co.
Etc.
The kitchen with its end-
less stainless steel is huge
. . . and this is where food is
fresh]y cooked . . . not frozen
. . . and large breadsticks
that look like two little
loaves of bread are baked
fresh.
I had baked mostaccioli,
large quill-shaped pasta in
a meaty sauce . . . and the
antipasto salad bar is
hardly comparable . . . This
plus the home-baked bread
at $4.70 is quite a deal.
Our waitress, Chris De-
Grazio and her very sweet
smile, added much to a de-
lightful dinner.
If you like spumoni, try it
at Spaghetti Co. Etc., which
is one of only two places that
serve the soft-like-ice cream
delicious dessert . . . Put a
couple of dashes of Kahlua
and your taste buds will
tingle with sheer delight.
WITH NATIONAL
interest in physical fitness
so prevalent these days,
Northfield Hilton's Wicker
Works in Troy now has a
special menu reflecting
health concern . . . Called
"Fitness First," their new
menu features a selection of
light, well-balanced meals
on a rotating daily basis .. .
plus also containing nutri-
tional tips and approximate
caloiie counts for each dish.
LIGHTHOUSE 6 INN
on Six Mile just west of
Telegraph, is easy to spot
. . . Firstly, it's the largest
building around . . . and
secondly, there's a light-
house with revolving lights.
But this isn't what distin-
guishes the new enterprise
of Wally Weinhart, Gary
McHugh, Mildred Stoller,
investment executive, and
Dave Walsh, attorney . . .
It's the all-around dining
and entertainment versatil-
ity of Lighthouse 6 Inn . .
My $4.95 all-you-can-eat
dinner included salad bar
(choice of 30 items), hot
soup, hot appetizers, basket
of onion rings, choice of

potato or vegetable and a
main entree of roast turkey
(breast, not roll) . . . served
by efficient and courteous
waiter Greg Lacha . . . as
big band music of the 40s
and 50s cruised melodiously
from a stereo juke box.
Lighthouse 6 Inn has a
parquet dance floor and will
soon have dancing to live
bands . . . Also, Gary
McHugh, considered by
many the daddy of dinner-
theater, will present all
musicals . . . His first,
"Dames At Sea," starts July
25, Fridays and Saturdays
. . . It'll be followed by "Fid-
dler On the Roof."
Wally's mother, Dorothy
Weinhart, was asked what
she wanted most . . . She
said it was to have her fam-
ily together . . . And so
Dorothy's first birthday
party was on number 80
. . .at the new Lighthouse 6
Inn . . . given by her sons
Wally and Donald . . . the
latter coming from Los
Angeles, where he and twin
brother Ronald have lived
for 28 years after leaving
Detroit . . . Wally's daugh-
ter, Jo Ann Kahn and his
grandchildren, Shannon, 8,
and Matthew, 3, also came
in from L.A. . . . as 50 people
sang "Happy Birthday" to
Dorothy.
THE VERY POPULAR
appetizer salad bar with all
its goodies is back at Topin-
ka's Country House Seven
Mile and Telegraph . . . and
only competition is the one
at Topinka's On The
Boulevard . . . The heavy
favorite meal in itself is
$5.95 . . . and no charge
with dinners.
THE DIXIELAND
bands of Chet Bogan and
Per-cy Gabriel will play at
Chuck Muer's P'Jazz this
Monday . . . on the terrace of
Hotel Pontchartrain start-
ing 6 p.m.
New Orleans is the home
of Dixieland music cand it's
also the home of Percy Gab-
riel . . . who will alternate
sets with Chet, a local de-
ntist by day and very fine
trumpet man at night, lead-
ing his Wolverine Jazz
Band, featuring vocalist
Dixiebelle (Alma Santa).
This is the night, re-
member, when Chet and his
group are to play "Hava
Nagela" in Dixieland
rhythm.

BETH ABRAHAM
HILLEL MOSES MEN'S
CLUB will install Harry
Shiovitz as president at
Shabat services 9 a.m.
Saturday in the main
sanctuary. Other officers to
be installed by Rabbi A. Irv-
ing Schnipper are: Franklin
Levy and Alfred Cowan,
vice presidents; Herman
Strassburger, treasurer;
Oscar Bank, Sam Wilner
and Israel Idelsohn,
secretaries; and Morris
Davis, Oscar Josephson,
Harry Left and Sheldon
Manson, trustees for a two-
year terms. Kidush will fol-
low.

When we are young, we
are slavishly employed in
procuring something
whereby we may live corn-

fortably when we grow old;
and when we are old, we
perceive it is too late to live
as we proposed.
