VOTED NO. 1
SQUARE PIZZA

The Best of Everything')

(Continued from Page 31)
This is a true dining ex-
perience . . . As I said prev-
iously, many of the dishes
are not obtainable any-
where in our geographic
region . . . True Mandarin
dining . . . authentic, that is
. . . is an art . . . House of
Hunan must be classed as
more than an experience .. .
It is actually an adventure
. . . Mandarin cooking in
New York is the big thing
today . . . House of Hunan is
giving Detroit area resi-
dents an'opportunity to find
out why.
SNEAKY TREATS, the
all - the - things - so - many -
folks - want - to - eat place
. . . but are so hesitant be-
cause of their calorie counts
. . . is now open . . . as a
carry-out . . . on Southfield
and 12 1/2 Mile in the Farrell
Shopping Plaza.
All the tasty goodies from
eclairs to crepes to Boston
Cream pies to banana
cream pies to mousses to
cheesecakes to hot fudge
puffs to banana splits to fro-
zen continental favorites,
etc., etc. . . . and hardly
much poundage . . . if any
. . . being put on.
This is the big secret
about Sneaky Treats . . . fi-
nally opened . . . with its
great concept by Ed and Be-
verly Esher and Hanly and
Marlene Elias . . . aided no
small measure by aunt and
uncle Beryl (Bernice) and
Ed Weitzman, whose two
Coffee Birrel spots in
California are slim set big-
gies most people on the
coast have heard about.
Sneaky Treats is the
newest thing to hit the area
. . . all pastries and frozen
foods 100 percent sugar-free
and all items with no
sugar or sale added . . . a
very, very big health asset
to be sure.
You really won't believe
the taste . . . Hardly much
difference if any according
to a lot of people already .. .
Even the phone number
says something . . . 569-
SLIM.
Beryl and Ed are still
here . . . but going back soon
to California . . . However,
you can win all bets that the
popular former Detroiters
will be back . . . again and
again.

non-profit organizations
take note . . . Stu Cassell
and Sheila Kay of the De-
troit Comedy Society will
give their services for bene-
fit performances . . . Call
them at 549-1591 . . . or stop
in where they are appearing
Fridays and Saturdays .. .
at Doug's Body Shop on
Woodward in Ferndale . . .
showtimes 9:30 and 11.
SPAGHETTI CO. TOO
on Middlebelt and
Plymouth in Livonia . . . at
the south end of Wonder-
land Shopping Center .. .
has a name change . . . It is
now Spaghetti Co. Etc. -
Whatever the name, one
thing certainly will not be
forgotten . . . That's a time
every September that will
be known as Ben Kasle Day
in memory of the one-time

owner . . . $25 ticket will in-
clude open menu, open bar
and entertainment . . . The
employees will give their
time . . . and the entire pro-
ceeds donated.
The memorial was
started by new owner Phil
Rongo and attorney Herb
Sott, administrator of Ben's
estate.
Today and tomorrow is
"Wonderful World of
Magic" at Spaghetti Co. Etc.
. . . with Mark St. John .. .
It's a new concept at the
place to entertain children
with their own nightclub
. . . free kiddie drinks and 1/2
price on their dinners .. .
Parents must be accom-
panied by a child 12 or
under . . . It's held in a pri-
vate room . . . and will also
be next Friday and Satur-
day . . . because . seating is
just for 125 — and that's it,
reservations are suggested
(522-5880).
Spaghetti Co. Etc. in
Livonia seats 320 in- three
rooms . . . plus a lounge with
130 and private banquet
area for 125 . . . The elegant
atmosphere is in the very
fine Ben Kasle style of doing
things when he was living.
What was formerly a
Great Scott Market, is now
a formidably-built and
graciously large yet inti-
mate dining emporium . . .
