HAROLD SHAPIRO U-M President Shapiro to Be Honored by JNF With Forest in Israel Dulcie Rosenfeld Will Chair CJF Assembly Committee for November Meeting Here Dr. Harold Shapiro, president of the University of Michigan will be honored by the Jewish National Fund Council of Detroit with a forest in Israel, Carmi M. Slomovitz, president of the. JNF Council, announced this week. David Holtzman, who has been named chairman of the awards committee, said that plans are now being made for the presentation of the award at the annual dinner of the JNF, to be held on Oct. 15 at Cong. Shaarey Zedek. Holtzman said that this year's aim is for a Dr. and Mrs. Harold Shapiro Forest of 25,000 trees. Dulcie Rosenfeld will chair the 1980 Detroit Commit- tee for the 49th general assembly of the Council of Jewish Federations (Nov. 12-16) at the Plaza Hotel. The CJF is the umbrella organization of local federa- tions and welfare funds in the United States and Canada. Mrs. Rosenfeld is vice president of the Jewish Welfare Federation and past president of its Women's Division. Long active in Jewish communal life, Mrs. Rosenfeld was a recipient of the Sylvia Simon Greenberg Young Leadership Award in 1968.
