THIS YEAR THE JEWISH NEWS IS OFFERING THE FOLLOWING TYPES OF NEW YEAR GREETINGS TO BE PUBLISHED IN OUR HOLIDAY ISSUE SEPTEMBER 5, 1980. Lesson of Pharaohs Seen in Negotiations With Egypt Editor, The Jewish News: It is true that as long as Egypt and Israel are at peace, the prospect of a war is remote. But in 25 years, when Sadat is gone and a new president of Egypt forms another alliance with the Arab countries, and they decide to attack Israel in the past, how will Is- be able to defend itself? have not forgotten what happened 3,700 years ago, when a friendly Pharoah invited the Jews to settle in Egypt and the succeeding Pharaoh enslaved them for 400 years! Anyone who looks at the map can see that for Israel to return to the 1967 bor- ders would be nothing less than suicide! The PLO and Arafat DEPARTMENT OF MICHIGAN LADIES AUXILIARY will meet 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Jewish War Veterans Memorial Home. Dinner will be served at 7 by the Lipshaw-HOberman Auxil- iary. The department and ladies auxiliary will par- ticipate in the Oak Park Fourth of July parade noon today. Members are re- quested to wear caps and meet in the Oak Park Lanes at 11 a.m. * * * are deadly serious when they say that they want all of Palestine (which in- cludes all of Israel)! The nations of the world ig- nore Arafat's threat and dismiss it as "prop- aganda." Hitler's threat was also ignored! But Is- rael cannot allow itself such a luxury. Therefore, Begin should call "a spade a spade" and tell the world that Israel will never return to the 1967 borders, and dis- cussions along these lines should terminate right now! Joseph's mistake in inviting the Jews to Egypt proved to be disastrous. Let us hope that the government of Is- rael will not make a similar mistake. 13113/1 1010 ruin TO ALL OUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS NAME The traditional Tisha b'Av Appeal on behalf of the Jewish National Fund will be made in synagogues and temples July 21 and 22, it was announced by Carmi M. A spokesman for the 14th Precinct Midtown South said the five were being booked but could not say immediatley on what charges.
