Will Hear Executive VP

Saul Seigel, executive
vice president of the Ameri-
can Technion Society, hav-
ing just returned from the
Technion-Israel Institute of
Technology in Haifa where
he attended the meetings of
Technion's international
board of governors, will re-
port this week to the
society's Detroit Region
board of directors about the
Technion's plans to help
meet the serious technolog-
ical, industrial and eco-
nomic challenges facing Is-
rael.
Wednesday's meeting
will be at the home of Louis
Milgrom, president of the
Detroit Region. Max Gill,
regional director, will in-
troduce Seigel to the board.

American Technion Society

a key role in its expansion.
In 1979, Seigel did a
comprehensive analysis
for the United Jewish
Appeal of the physical
and social needs associ-
ated with "Project Re-
newal."
As an expert on urban af-
fairs, he was one of the key
figures in efforts to rebuild
the central city of Flint,
Mich., serving as president
of the Flint Area Confer-
ence, Inc., and Flint Renais-
sance, Inc. from 1971
through 1975.
Seigel has assisted the
governments of California
and Michigan in related
positions, working with
former Governor Ronald
Reagan and Governor
William Milliken. For
many years Seigel also
acted as a consultant to
Harding Mott, chairman of
the Charles Stewart Mott
Foundation.

cost of living in Israel has
risen by a factor of 131 in
the 32 years since Israel be-
came a state.
However, the average in-
come of Israelis rose by a
factor of 308. Haaretz said

1948.
