WASHINGTON (JTA) —
A challenge to the Jewish
community to focus its ef-
forts and resources on fund-
ing programs for Jewish
students on college cam-
puses was issued here by Dr.
Daniel Thursz, executive
vice president of Bnai Brith
nternational.
Speaking at the Hillel
mmission annual meet-
ing, Thursz cited "fragmen-
tation" of Jewish interests
and organizations, infla-
tion, and the recession as
the main reasons forcing
the Bnai Brith Hillel Foun-
dations to trim their activi-
ties after years of steady
. growth.
Rabbi William Rudolph,
University of Michigan
Hillel director, described
Arab attempts to buy their
way into the American
classroom by funding Mid-
dle East studies at many
universities.

time. Hawaiian night,
